jeff; u might just shim the spring a little in the oil bypass valve and just run the thing and see if things settle down and the oil leak goes away. i have been running 20-50 in all my packards. dell

great job jeff; still not big on the color, but the customer will be happy i am sure. if u pull the front cover off to check the cork seal make sure to check the plug in the end of the oil galley, should have a small hole in it to lube the chain- to big a hole = to much oil. also u might rotate the clutch and brake pad 180 degrees. dell ps i believe the ground strap should be the braided type.

joel ray sells the 4 door for 650 and the 2 door for 450 as i replaced the trim strips on my 2259 i used epoxy and they are on to stay so far. dell

jeff; with your skills the least expensive fix is to replace the pot metal wheel i have done it on my cars. if u can't find a good wheel i have some repair ones. the lock has to come apart to fix. dell

look up white post restorations, send then your core and have a brass sleeve installed and then put a new ket in and you are good to go. it is not cheap to do but safety first. good luck dell

the correct color for the 48 custom engine should be gray- i use duplacolor universal gray. front motor mount and intake should be engine color. i think i sent u a picture

joel ray was selling the step plate and might still have some, there was some questions as to who got the molds when the original maker divorced. as i understand the molds are worn out and produce some lines in the step plate. hope this info is helpful-i have a set in my 2259 and a set for my 2293, the four door set is not as good as the two door set. dell

2nd gear is held on the shaft by a metal collar that is pressed on to preload the bearing( some time ago someone in canada was rebuilding them) ,it has to be cut off. if you have a good shaft and 2nd gear just change the unit. you will love the overdrive as it make the 110 a joy to drive. i went for a drive in my 42 110 today. i have several extra r9s if you need one or parts. dell
