Re: 1955 Air Cleaner Decals

There was a Packard assembly facility in Puebla from 1940-1956. Cars were assembled in Detroit then "knocked down" by removing wheels, tires, gas tank and other such items.
Then they were replaced with Mexican made items.

There was a requirement that a certain percentage of the car had to be Mexican made in order to be imported at a low customs rate.

We purchased the entire parts stock of the facility from the O'Farrill family in about 1986.

The best place to find a starter switch or components is from one of your friendly Packard parts suppliers. Kanter Auto has both good used and perhaps new ones in stock.

Our brake hardware kits are based off an industry standard. Meaning the kit contains the hardware that is most likely to fail do you excessive heat and movement. The anti rattle springs that go over the parking brake bar from an industry standard not considered a wear item and is not a standard part in a brake hardware kit. Pertaining to the problem with the hold down pins/nails that you received. Can you tell me what is the number stamped into the end of pins that came in the kit? It is normally either a one or two digit number? Also what was the number on your original pins?

We would like to resolve your issue.

Thanks

Fred Kanter saw your post and asked me to forward this along to you.

Dear Sir,

Kanter Auto Products is a major supplier of restoration parts for Packards and all other makes. In our collection we have a 23rd series Super Eight Deluxe 4 door sedan in excellent condition, we've had it for over 40 years.

With advancing age (74 &77) we've started to sell some of our collection. The car is priced fairly at $15,000 and will be fully roadworthy when sold. It needs some "freshening up" after a ten year rest which is included in the price.

Sincerely

Fred and Dan Kanter

The 115C Six had a brown painted dash, all other Juniors and Seniors had a wood grained decal dash.

Many panels are virtually the same except for trim holes like the 51-54 rear quarters above. Some panels Packard made with just trim holes marked for different models, you drill.

'38 only uses a sealed filter unit. The head with 2 holes is from a newer Packard that had a cartridge type canister/filter. We have the correct '38 only filter, call our Packard dept 800-526-1096 ext 336
