My 733 Sedan and 1104 Coupe Roadster. The sedan is original paint, 'Packard Blue' and black. The roadster is Sylvan green or close to it.

I, as well, am going to have to tackle my timing soon. That sounds like a very good solution to reduce the number of times the starter needs to be removed. Pictures would be great.

John,

Yes, the car is considered a classic by CCCA. It has never been to any shows, though I will probably take it to some local meets when I get it back to TX. It will give me a good excuse to do some driving .

Thanks for the comments.

Cheers,

Tom

Mal,

The hot rod is actually in Ron Gorman's shop. He was contracted by Tom to do some of the painting, as Tom's paint booth was quite busy. Ron has done classics before, though he is best known for his hot rod stuff.

The defective new gears were originally too big. Those were sent back, and the second set had something wrong that I can't remember. I think they were unbalanced (not properly finished after casting), but I will check with Tom to confirm.

Right now the car is at the upholstery shop. This is hopefully going to be the last stop before it is finished. Well, except for the usual tweaks and so forth.

Thanks for the comments.

Cheers,

Tom

Mal,

No problem. I thought the 'here' would come out bold, underlined, or something to indicate it was a link. I should have checked.

Cheers,

Tom

Sorry, I made the link the word "here". If you put your cursor over the top of the word, it will turn into a little pointer. Click and you will be brought to the site.

Otherwise, copy and paste the link below into your browser address bar.

Sorry for the confusion.

Dear Folks,

I posted this over at AACA, but I forgot to post it here. This is a link to a Picasa site with a bunch of photos documenting the body restoration of my 34 coupe roadster. The work is being done by Tom Rasmussen and his folks at Odyssey Restoration. They are doing a completely fantastic job. The photos may be handy for others attempting a similar job.

The photos are here

Cheers,

Thomas
