Those sidemounts are way to high for it to look good. It looks way out of proportion.

Which is why Packard didn't offer them on the 6 cyl with the shorter hood and fenders. Really shows off the incorrect wheels though.

Is this an accessory light switch? The 41 headlight switch is a rectangle in the row of similar knobs

I believe Don is correct. I think that the 40-42 grille is the same and the junior fixed bar and senior moving bar grilles fit the same hole in the sheet metal. Confirm with part numbers.

Modern convertibles use cloth because the synthetic fibers are not so sensitive to a bit of water. They will look really off in a prewar car. If you want cloth, look at what Packard offered as an option in the 1940's - leather bolsters and cord fabric inserts, either in harmonizing or contrasting colors. Used in the 19th,20th, 22nd, and 23rd series Seniors I believe.

Packard obviously did not know its birds. The bird ornaments are a swan not a cormorant nor a pelican. The cormorant is on the Packard shield. I don't know where in the world these became identified as a pelicans. No matter, it makes no difference these days. Call them what you want, that's what Packard did.

I think the pelican reference comes from a heraldic description of "a pelican in her piety" feeding her young by plucking from her breast.
While it looks like a swan, I don't think Packard ever called it such.

Most modern metallic colors don't match, you are right, because the flake is too big and too much used. If you custom select the size of aluminum flake and the level you can come quite close. There are only a couple of companies making the metal flake and they don't typically sell retail, so you need a good paint supplier working with you

My 41 has the Budd plate only on the front passenger door. This appears to have been the norm.

Agree - the Packard green is an
olive shade, not blue shade
