Ah yes, a (potential) trip to upstate NY in late Autumn. Perhaps Allah will smile on those making the trek and send bearable weather, as fair weather is probably too much to ask for.

Actually, I was a bit more interested in the Clipper deluxe, but this is a business decision, and I can only do so much.

Also, I am rather surprised at how few of you seem able to move cars by yourselves, or maybe I'm just (very) weird like that.

Here's a question: There are several pregnant customs scattered throughout the building. Most (all) are crap. Assuming they don't sell and the Old Iron man comes for them, what is to become of their hood ornaments and cloisonne hubcaps, which appear virtually to be their sole redeeming features otherwise.

If I could get one for $100 for the drivetrain, I would, but I haven't got time to haul all that crap home

Paging Wat and Fred!

Fred probably already knows about this one, and has already figured out how to get you to buy it Wat.

Fred sent me a text and told me to ignore it. She doesn't like the LWB, and we've already been to TX this fall.

Silly Man!!! :D

Which brings a question to mind. I have a '41 Clipper which has a vin plate and a legit title. Do those items as is have any value? I'm going to part out the car - it's a rust bucket.

I'm guessing that 90% of the Abelove cars are for parts and not a lot else.

I picked out two that I'll put out a flyer bid, and one that I might get a tad serious about. Problem is, it's just so damned far from me, and for what it is, I'm not investing in hiring a hauler.

We'll see, and it is what it is . . . .

At 22%, your $500 max just became $409 and change.

Yeah, that looks depressing. Still, there's a custom super 8 in and among all that stuff. It does have two good front fenders - I think.

Went on a wee road trip to score some parts, including a cloisonne hubcap, since those don't exactly grow on trees. Turns out, I was buying it and the other goodies from the man who bought the Jack Palance engine and frame. There was a thread about it on here a year or more ago. Anyway, his story is, the body's owner was making a botch of the transfer of it to the Ford platform. I concluded that it sounded like an abortion on wheels. Meanwhile, he's fascinated by the big engine and his a creative idea for building a speedster out of miscellaneous parts. I look forward to seeing his progress.

So I now have one of Jack's hubcaps and the horn bar and button. Envy me. ;)

For sale on Facebook Marketplace. 1947 Clipper 6 sedan. Looks good enough in the pics, with surface rust only showing. The one shot of the driver's A-pillar floor looks okay. He claims the car is solid and will start, but he thinks it needs a carb. Pictures are in the ad. $2,800.00

I wonder if its body would like to become a super 8???

Oh, and my kid made partner at the accounting firm where he works. Youngest partner in corporate history.

His mom is smart . . . .
