Interesting thoughts. A spare pump might be a good investment.

Noisy v8 water pump?

Has anyone experienced noisy water pumps on the V8s?
My first pump ran only a thousand miles or was was growling .
The rebuilder sent me a fresh one & thought the first one looked really good inside.(upon disassembly)
This pump has maybe 8-10K on it and really growls. The sound really seemed like it was in the lower front of the engine but it was a great relief that it was not.
Quiet without the belt, noisy with the belt. Funny thing is, the pump feels really good, it's just the the seal(or something) that squeaks a little.
Has anyone here experienced something similar?
Thanks!

Looking for a section of cloth. I am not planning on any major upholstery work but it would be grand if I could find a section for the driver's seat.
Why not throw some more money at what will be someone else's car?
Thanks in advance!

My first guess is that a previous bearing did that?

RE the photo in post #4, I don't think of that kind of rust in Australia. Is this typical near the coast?

Van Halen's Panama

With Eddie Van Halen passing yesterday, the airways have been flooded with his band's music.
Since owning a Panama, I enjoy the rock radio staple even more. Now I kind of surmised the song was about a car, the engine sound featured in the tune sounds exactly like a grey market Testarosa that I heard many years ago.
The real story that I heard in an interview was that DLR, the lead singer, wrote the song about a stripper named "Panama" that he had seen in an L.A. club one night.
Now you know the "rest of the story"

You will be happier with the Delco. Lighter & easier to get to the wires.
Good Luck!

I have a set of Coker American Classics, though they are not "Bias" look.
They ride like 8 ply truck tires with only 30 psi in them.
You may want to explore Diamondbacks.
