I epoxied 2 small LEDs inside the gauge face. They don't show at all when off.

As some of you know I recently had an oil pump failure and I didn't notice the gauge drop to zero. After pulling the engine, turning the crank, replacing the bearings and putting the engine back in I decided that it would be a good idea to install an idiot light. I picked up some small red LEDs and put them inside my gauge. Here is a pic of the results I think that it was $12 well spent.

I wondered about the safe sustained cruising speed myself. After doing piston speed calculations and talking to many folks I decided that 2500 RPM would be my self determined safe sustained RPM.
I also have a 4:36 rear end and 28" dia tires BUT I also have an R11 overdrive. Using a tach and a GPS 2500 RPM gives me 66 MPH. Still in my 38 120 driving at 66 starts to get "interesting" but doable.

That 39 has the base
'Bail" hood ornament. I believe the Goddess of speed was an option.

Don't you have to run 12V and have a HEI ignition system and an electric fuel pump along with an oxygen sensor (meaning you cant use any lead substitute additives) to use this thing?

Just went to see "The Finest Hours" today and if you looked real quick and knew where to look you could spot my car in 2 or 3 shots.
