Thanks Ross, I tried to get a peek at another Caribbean a few hours away, but the ad is down. So like the fenders, Packard supplied MB with blanks with no holes?

After months of trying to get a picture of the underneath side of my buddies Caribbean hood, I finally got one. Unfortunately it's not all I hoped it would be. The metal work on his is quite finished compared to mine. Some one asked a while back if the fenders had a steel backing behind the brazing. Take a look at the photo showing the hood ornament area.

Back to the Caribbean. As you may notice the drivers door is roached. I believe this maybe what took the car off the road in the mid sixties.

Leeedy, I don't think that the green on the car ever went into production. The first photo does not show the car in its best light. It would not surprise me if MB had a lot to do with the design. Those were some exciting times.

JW, This is not the black car. We restored this car in 2003 and its color is supposed to be 37 Packard Maroon, but its closer to 41 Packard Maroon. It looks like Hershey chocolate brown in the day light.

Thought you may enjoy a picture of two sports cars offered by American manufacturers in 1953. The one on the left is the one we are researching and the other is our Nash Healey roadster.
