So I know I sold my Packard, but I still frequent the site daily. I came across the following info and wanted to pass it along. Some Packard stuff is included.
The Richard Muehlmann car collection will be auctioned off this Friday night at Schumacher Auction Service in Belleville Illinois (Just southeast of St. Louis, Missouri). Muehlmann was a 40-year veteran musician with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and an avid collector of old cars. Dave Schumacher will auction off an impressive array of old La Salles, Packards and other classic cars that Richard Muehlmann accumulated through many years. Here is the local newspaper article: bnd.com/living/magazine/article220255305.html Here is a link to the auction information: schumacherauctions.com/muehlmann-classic-car-auction/

I highly recommend you get in touch with Bruce Blevins in flint Michigan. He runs a machining business and reproduces quite a lot of items for 33-34 packards. He also has a good stock of spare parts and parts cars.
Good luck!

Mal,
The scupper vent I believe was a 1934 feature. I know that the 33 standard and super eight pretty much used the same generator as is shown in your photos, the 12 may have had a different generator. In the literature section on this site there are some old electrical data sheets which give the correct part numbers for the generator and associated regulator box on top. There were several different model numbers for both the generator and regulator. Hope this helps Hobbs P.S. when is wade getting back on the fossil?

Car is for sale.
I can say that I have found nearly all of the parts that were missing. The couple of pieces that are missing are minor in nature and could either be fabricated easily. All sheet metal is there, although not shown in the photos. Engine runs great, I have the correct replacement carburetor bowl. MANY extra parts. I have the impossible to find correct 1933 taillights. The chassis has been restored, the engine rebuilt correctly. Wood rot has been replaced. New radiator. Gas tank relined. And much much more info. Asking price is $15,000 Location is 15 min east of St. Louis.

Re: Flea Markets vs eBay

I will have to say that lately I have given up on ebay. I have been burned too many times with poor packaging and cheap sellers. However, eBay never ceases to amaze me, I have managed to find at least a couple of very difficult parts, but doing so has requires daily searching.
I had a headlight shipped in a box that "was wrapped tightly with bubble wrap and will get there great" The box was a box that had been used 10 times and had a piece of bubble wrap in it. Flea markets have pretty much burned me out as well. I searched Iola last year and saw three Packard parts. I could have bought a bunch of McDonalds toys or engines from the 80s, or built a Model A from scratch; however, the Packard parts, especially the Pre-war, are definitely drying up. Local flea markets are, at least around here, a joke for Packard parts. When I mention Packard, a very common response is to show me GM parts. There are the few people out there that have a few treasure troves of parts that you just have to know to be able to source parts, or hope that the major vendors will find them.
