Brian,
I am getting very close to ordering the material from RSSI. DO you recall what lengths and widths of material you ordered? Dale

Brian, thanks. I will go back to RSSI and see what they have.
Where did you get your staples? Did you make them?

Brian, I went to the RSSI website and searched for rubberized canvas. I got four hits, but no material that I could identify. Can you give me any specifics on the material you found.

Gentlemen:
Thank you all for your interest and suggestions. This is by far the most responsive and helpful site I have found for resolving restoration problems. Thanks to each of you. Yes, these are original, factory installed splashers. I am the second owner and familiar with the car since 1958. I have had it for 33 years. They are stapled to the fender panels. The staples are about the gauge of large, heavy duty paper clips. They do cover the "top of the A". And they have a circular hole cut on each side to access the two top grease fittings. The backing looks more like it is bonded to the material than sprayed. But it is 58 years old. Brian, I went to the RSSI website and searched for rubberized canvas. Big Kev: I have tried to ID them in the Parts Book. It's difficult.
HH56: I visited a local canvas store yesterday. They have awning canvas and naughahide type materials. This canvas is like the stuff we used on trucks and trailers in the military. Then it is coated on the underside. Owen: Steele Rubber has a reinforced rubberized fabric that is 1/8". But it is black rubber sheet. I want it to be as authenic as possible.

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and detailing the engine compartment. I have had no problems in locating parts and materials for everything EXCEPT the fabric for the splash covers for the upper suspension that is stapled to the lower inside fender panel on both sides.
The remnants appear to be canvas with some kind of water proofing on the underside. Does anyone know of a source? Help!
