THANKS TROY AND ADMN!

QUOTE : ( Not quite sure what you are planning to swap but don't believe the V8 Twin Ultra bellhousings will bolt up to the inline 8s if you are looking at just putting the trans on the original engine.)

thanks you guys. i have a core. but it is locked. i just want one to hook up to the 288 for the 51.
my 52 has a 52 ultramatic it works well but rear seal leaks.

the 52 came with the 327 so the ujoints and all are diffrent form the regular 200 which my 51 is.

ultimatly i would want the 12 plate clutch for the 327 / 52 200 dlx.

i want to have one ready for the bucket list road trip to Indy in May. want to drive the 51 200 . just looking at possibilities. if i trip on a stack of money i would just go get this core i have rebuilt. 2 thousand was a quote. but i dont know of anybody specialising in ULTRAMATICS in california. i know of a guy in virginia and sacramento.. but not down here. i should go down to san diago and talk to southwestpackards.. he knows everything.

keeping with the craiglsits theme. there is a parts car in SF fro 500 dollers. has a windshield and motor trnny!

sorry i am on my mac and no spell check. you guys rock by the way

i have a parts car 54 with some glass if anyone wants some. winshield is cracked but rear is good. not much else. going to mill next month

I have heard that this year of Ultramatic is problematic? would putting it in a 51' 200 be stupid?

I enjoy the watching the trails and tribulations of the progress. Where did you get the windshield? you said they had two and you bought one. the green Solex is the one i need

i got a new windshield . got the new rubber . it was tinted. fixed the rust got at the corners of the channel. put it in three or for times to get it right.

then the punks kids threw a rock at it or something and broke it.

I dont think i will describe how i felt.
but i need anther one now.

my shipping Slip says Solex. which my good Aussie friend says is green tint.
i found a used one seven hundred miles away for cheap. but again.

i am worried about it cracking on instillation. I have done the installation before so i am familiar but is there a temperature outside that is better for installation of a used windshield. HOT out or cold? other tips would be appreciated
