I actually found a transmission shop 2 blocks from my house that works on them. Drove it there in low gear and soon I will be $2500-$3000 poorer.

Great pic. I found out my transmission is slipping after alls said and done. Kanter Parts has a rebuild kit for the Ultramatic for $415. Pretty sure the friction plates are just worn out. Wish I knew of a local shop in the San Diego area that would rebuild it.

Here is a link to my 300 in the registry. >>>

I wasn't going to retype 2 hours worth of work all over so I just answered the basic questions.

Dude! I spent 2 hours typing the history out on my 300 and there is nothing there! Today I washed it up, the first time it's been washed in 10 years, and found a gem under all that dust. Here is a link to my car for sale on Craigslist. >>>http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/cto/5734171428.html

I have the same exact Packard and model 300. What do you need to know? The size of the whitewalls on it? As for the bias ply, they are notorius for not being able to balance them even when brand new. I just went thru that with my rat-rod that had brand new whitewall bias-ply and they were so far out of round they couldn't be balanced.
