I'm talking a break from the project for a vacation with my family... I'm having withdrawal symptoms... maybe next week I can slip in the back door of the Cussler museum and get a close look at their 1930 Packard boat tail speedster.

Thanks Wes,
I'm spending two weeks with some awesome friends no their boat in St Thomas USVI. This place was devastated by two hurricanes this year. So I'm getting to help out... I love to build stuff.
When I get home I'll be finishing the rear fenders and making the connection between the supercharger and the carburetor. Below are some pictures of the new Fluidaper harmonic balancer with the pulley on the OD, the supercharger mounted with the custom aluminum brackets complete with the double v-belts in place.

I got back at it last weekend after being away from it for more than 2 months. The right rear fender is tacked together... I will weld it up when I get back from the 2 week vacation I'm taking starting today.

I'm sorry to say that my wife is loosing her battle with ovarian cancer. I have been by her side for the past three weeks... at first still encouraged. This project is dedicated to Sherri, my soul mate. I know she would have loved cruising around in the boat tail speedster more than any of the other cars I have done.
The opportunity to document my progress on this site has been part of my daily distraction and therapy. I'll be back at it to finish this most important car the "Sherri Ann".

Although I am not able to get to my parts for a while most of the tubing and fittings came off of my 1930 chassis in good condition. If you are still in need I'll see if I can help you out.

Thanks guys... with your input I've decided to make it. That is unless a pair can be purchased before I get started. HH56 thanks for your lead about metrommp.com I've ordered several items from them today including a pair of rubber bumpers for this project.
For the frame it will be easiest to machine it from a solid plate of stainless steel. I assume that the feature on the front of it is to thread a strap through to hold the folded top down. Any additional details about these scarce bumpers will be great!

Help! Does anyone know where to get the square bumpers shown in this picture. I believe the top frame folds down on to these bumpers to protect the paint. Thanks

On Monday morning I was able to get about four hours on my fender. I gave up on the approach of making the middle fit the inside and the outside of the fender. So as you can see in the video I've got the middle attached to the inside and next I'll shape the outside edge of the middle and the outside of the fender to get the desired fit.

Thanks Ernie... I really enjoy my time in the shop... and I argue it's cheaper than a therapist.

Ok last week I took a video of the new harmonic balancer going together. I bought a Fuidamper ring and put a double v-belt on the outside of it. The center gets a custom hub to fit the crank and the oil seal on the chain cover. The belts will drive the vintage supercharger... but more on that later.
