From looking at the pictures and what has been discussed here can anyone help me with a valuation of the car?
I have posted it in the for sale section but without a price. I am not a "Packard" guy so I could use some help with this. I know it's tough to put a $$$$ value on something without seeing it but I thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks,
Joe

1950 Packard Station Sedan for sale

Sadly, I am considering selling my 1950 Station Sedan.
The car is as described here:
The interior looks to be all original and is in excellent condition.
The engine turns over freely - I have not tried to start it
Yes, there is rust in the trunk area. I have a new trunk floor for it.
It has new rocker panels welded in.
The tailgate wood (upper & lower) is in very good condition as is the wood on the rear quarter sections of the car.
I have 7 Station Sedan doors for this car - 3 have the wood on them which is in excellent condition and a 4th one has been painted but the wood is off. I believe I have the wood for it. If not the other 3 doors have wood and the inserts, too. What is on the car now are regular sedan doors that someone tried to "dress up" as woody doors.
I have the following for the car:
New rubber sill plates
New trunk floor sheet metal
New stainless tailgate strip(s)
I have the rear brake light/ license plate holder
New door sill mouldings (stainless)

The only thing I am missing is an "original" tailgate "t" handle but I have a new one that will work.

If interested contact me here and we can talk about it or call 570-460-1669
Asking $15,500.00
These are the best pics I have. It is difficult to get to the car in the shed.
Thanks, Joe

Sadly, I am considering selling my 1950 Station Sedan. I ran out of room for it.
If anyone is interested or knows anyone that might be let me know.

I actually removed the glovebox liner and that card was the only thing taped to the top of it.
I have not had the time to search for any other documents. I doubt very much that the build sheet will be by the gas tank as it appears the tank, at some point, was removed and cleaned. So I am guessing the sheet is gone - but you never know.

I looked for the #'s on the tailgate and could not see any.
I am now looking at the index card from the glovebox.
Handwritten in pencil is: 2293 M 5212 and AL5
Handwritten in red pencil is the #7 and a large #100 in the center of the card.
Also, there are #'s stamped and they look like 0948 - hard to read.
On the flip side is stamped Dec,6 1948
Handwritten in pencil is #112?
Also there are numbers written but they are scratched out in blue pencil and I cannot read them.
The Briggs body # is 2293-5213
The engine # is G27136... I couldn't get a clear reading on the rest.

So it was Aztec Brown Metallic. I thought so.
Seems someone painted it Maroon along the way.
I will look for those "burned in" #'s on the tailgate and post them later today.

I was able to find the so-called build sheet on top of the glovebox.
It is an index-sized paper and it has some #'s on it. Some are impossible to read.
From memory I think what I can read is:

Dec,6 1948
2293 M(?) 5212 or 5213 (cannot remember which one it is but I know that the Briggs # is either 5212 or 5213 so the Briggs # and the # on the card are one off - either up or down. (Briggs # 5212 - Card # 5213 OR Briggs # 5213 - Card # 5212. I can check though. Right now I don't have the card in front of me.

So going by what I have read it appears that the car was a 1949 model year that was renumbered to my VIN # - 2393-5-3570 as a 1950.
Also, on my data plate I cannot read the paint or trim codes. From what I understand they may have been "pencilled" in at the dealer and may have rubbed off.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies so far.
I do believe that the entire interior is original.
I will look for those #'s in the tailgate and post them if I can find them.

Joe
