Thanks for the information

We ordered that exact plate from US already and that's what I need to get stamped / engraved.

Yes I think you're right.

The vehicle number is fairly legible however the section where the delivery details would be looks like it may have never been completed.

The car is factory RHD so it looks like it would have been sold by a Packard dealer direct here in Australia

Unfortunately the corrosion and rust gas got the better of it and I wasn't able to restore it at all.

It looks like it didn't have the delivery section of the plate filled in anyway and from what others are saying in this thread, it seems fairly normal.

Sounds like a great place to start. I'll certainly be signing up as it would be great to know some of the history of my car.
It's been in the family since the 1960's so most of it's life is accounted for.

Thanks for the reply

The car is RHD so it sounds like it may have been distributed in Australia.
Great to see another Packard enthusiast in Australia!!!

I have finished restoring a 1947 Packard Clipper in Australia and I have a replacement VN (Vehicle Number) plate that I need to have engraved / stamped.
Problem is that the original one was that heavily rusted that I cant make out any of the original delivery details such as the city and date where it was originally purchased.
I'm hoping someone may have some way of tracking down this information from the original factory / dealer data and I have the engine, vehicle number and firewall number if required.
Thanks in advance.
