I was looking at a 1938 Packard 120 coupe and the owner told me upfront that the engine and body's numbers do not match, but the engine is a '38.
What--if any- impact do non-matching numbers have on value? Thank you

Based on cursory research, I've read that a person could reasonably expect to pay on the average $77/hour for classic car restoration work.
I understand there are a multitude of variables that dictate an individual restorationist's hourly rate, including reputability, area of the country, and type of vehicle. I'd appreciate feedback from any forum members who might able to advise what I should expect to pay.

I've just entered the market to purchase a Packard coupe, pre WW II. I would appreciate recommendations to reputable dealers. Or is it best to place a "Want Ad" in a Packard enthusiast venue.
