Just about forgot another question. Should the bumpers have painted recessed areas or are also chrome?

I have on restoring a 35 Packard Victoria 1201 standard 8. My car has chrome headlight, park lamp and tail light buckets. Also the lower grill panel below the grill fins are chrome. Is this correct or should they all have been painted? Also the hood side moldings were plastic self adhesive, does know a source for real ones? Thanks!
