Anyone know what company supplied tires to Packard in 1940 for the Super 8?

Interesting info & pics. I am in the process of having my 1940 Super 8 engine rebuilt. All looked really clean & not worn. The water distribution tube came out easily and in one piece. Looks good with just a bit of surface rust. My engine builder told me that he was going to paint it after cleaning. I've never heard of that. Any opinions?

Thanks

Any good or not so good results with the various well known parts suppliers? Any recommendations? Re: 1940 Super 8

You gave me some interesting info on the Identification thread but I am somewhat confused. Does the 59I47B stamp from Briggs have any relation to the VIN# or body style or year, if so what? In 1941, was there another set of #'s? (in addition to the Briggs & the VIN plate)
Thanks
Paul

Any idea waht the following 2 stamped #'s mean?

59I47B I could be 1?
57G4I9 I could be 1?

Did Briggs use numbers, letters or a combination? What size were they? Also, is there a way to decode the body numbers for body style or model year? Was there any deviation or any bodies sent without a number?

In 1941, was there a number written or stamped on the cowl-separate from & different from the VIN tag information?
