i'll grab the engine, frame, firewall, and any other numbers i can find when I go out to put the water pump back in. Water pump currently in Gold Hill, OR. will report back

Ernie, thank you for the well wishes, and I do mean El Cajon, Ca. I know the area you are talking about, was the Beef N BUn around back then?

As I thought I mentioned earlier in this thread, the manifolding is 1933-34 so the block must be 1933 or later as that's when the downdraft and 45 degree manifold mounting was adopted.

What is the motor number?

So the Packard 1930 740 Frankenstein has this chrysler solar spark rgt-1004f, i think that it is from around 37. Looking to find points for it, replace it with the same thing, something newer, or something older.

So i was wondering what my options are. Currently not picky about it being original, just trying to get it running.

The family story is that the car arrived in boxes. As for making the mish mash work, my grandpa was known for that in his small town I have come to learn. It worked for sometime i believe. I do not know the reason it was parked, but i can say i currently have the water pump sent off for repair, and i had the starter cleaned and repaired, so i could have been one of those two things, or any 1000 other things.

Hello, just wanted to introduce the beast, and myself. This had been sitting at my grandmother's house since 1970. Its a 1930 740? Limousine. (Wheel base 140.5) though some of the engine seems to be 1931,and some1933, and the distributor is a chrysler solar spark from 37. So a bit of a Frankenstein.

I have lots of questions, ill try and use the search button first.
