Hello, My name is Nate and I just found your post from 2007. Are you still doing the HEI conversions for the Packard straight eights? Mine is a 53 clipoer with a 327. I tried the pertronix conversion and am not happy with it. If you could please let me know, I would appreciate it. Best way to get me is email. 1olefarttoo@gmail.com.
Thanks

I have an ultramatic in my 53 Clipper deluxe that I believe is failing. I recently drained the entire tranny, torque converter included, thoroughly cleaned the filter screen and replaced all the fluid with type f, but it still has a hard time getting up to speed. I live in the NC mountains and think it would be easier if I had a manual tranny. Does anyone know what year manuals will bolt straight up to my 327 and will I have to lengthen or shorten the drive shaft.

Thanks everyone for your input! There is no "Packard" antenna delete plug available,So I made one out of 1/4 inch aluminum flat bar. Curved it to follow the lines of the fender, rounded the edge, made an 1/8 inch gasket and welded a stud to the backside. Oh and polished it. Necessity is the mother of invention!

My 53 Clipper deluxe club sedan has a power operated antenna that does work, great. Unfortunately the radio does not! Since I do all my listening thru bluetooth, this isn't an issue. I have pulled the radio and am currently waiting for a radio delete panel to arrive. My question is, was there ever an antenna blanking plug for the fender ever produced, or has anyone come up with a solution to close the hole?

53 Clipper manual brake master cylinder upgrade

The master cylinder on my 53 Clipper deluxe has faded away! Since I drive in the NC mountains, I thought I would change it out for a dual reservoir to give it a safer system. It doesn't have easamatic brakes, just manual. Is there a later master cylinder that I can replace it with? I actually installed a master cylinder from a geo metro into a 61 Rambler American awhile back on the advice of a club member, and the braking force was awesome! Hoping to do something along the same lines. I am keeping the drum brakes for now, but may change up to wilwood front disc at a later time
