Brass Plate

Found this plate in a collection. Looks like it might be 1908 or so. Also found a contemporary photo of the owner and the car. I understand the motor may have had a French connection? Anyone know? Where would this plate be mounted originally?

Thanks for any info.

John

Hello, I came across this emblem and am looking for help identifying if for a Packard. Approx 4" diameter, pot metal, chrome plated and quite heavy. Thinking it might be from a hub cap possibly. Do any of you fine people recognize it?
