Agree with your efforts.... zero compression would almost probably not be a ring issue. Most likely a valve.

You can continue trying to free up the valve but eventually pulling the head would eliminate the guess work and would save you time.

In addition, it would give you a new head gasket, a chance to look at the valves and the opportunity to check the water pump and distribution tube while you are at it.

You might as while at the point.

Good luck
Chris

Ellingson motors has a tri color convertible for sale. Anyone know anything about this car?

https://www.ellingsonmotorcars.com/inventory/915/1955-packard-caribbean-convertible

Can you take a look at the undercarriage images? Thoughts? I do not know these cars but I really think this thing is good looking.

No need to discuss pricing, just wondering how correct this vehicle is.

Thanks
Chris

Let's get together!

ATTENTION PITTSBURGH AREA Packard owners and Enthusiasts

June 30 at the Victory Car Cruise in Cranberry is American-Made Night. The cruise goes from 5 to 9.

It will be a good opportunity to get together to discuss and organize future Packards of Pittsburgh events, including the restart of the Allegheny Packards PAC club.

Please respond below if you plan on making the trip.

As we get nearer to the day we can pick a nearby rendezvous so we can cruise in together.

We have had a nice response. Looks like there is some interest in restarting the Allegheny Packard Club.

We are trying to organize Packard owners in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

We have started a new FB group, Packards of Pittsburgh.

Hopefully we can get a smattering of individuals and have a meet up or two to discuss the topic.

The check valve seems like a pretty good idea.

Font Wheel Dust Cap - 46 Clipper

I cannot get my dust caps to stay on. Eventually I will get a clunking racket from inside my hubcaps.

Any ideas how to secure them? I was thinking putting using a punch on the inside edge to put a small bump on the outside edge on each one to secure them.

Ideas?

Thanks
Chris

Congrats.

We both have Lots to learn. I am on the same track with you. I had air cooled VW's my entire life and then made the big jump, straight to a '46 Packard Clipper 7 passenger sedan. Water cooled? Radiators? Over Drive? I'm so confused!!!! :)

There are tons of resources available.

Good Luck and enjoy the ride.
