Hi folks, just a quick note to let you know there is a crook who now has twice in the last year contacted me with a BS story about parting out a perfectly restored 1936 Super 8 Conv. Coupe, a maroon car with chrome headlamp buckets, which I know is not his. However, I suppose he'll use a picture of a car similar to yours if he responds to your ad.

He replied to my 'parts wanted' ad claiming to have the parts I need and including a picture of the car. Claims he won't sell it outright and wants to part it because his grandson needs certain parts for his industrial training class, asks for a list of parts you need, then quotes ridiculously low prices but can't provide the specific pics requested or a phone number. Claims to be in a wheelchair with upcoming surgery, just send him the money then he'll get his mechanic to come remove them. Also quotes unreal shipping charges. He's an idiot but you'd have to be a bigger one to fall for his pitch.

He goes by the name Keith Meehan with an email address of 'keithmeehan61@gmail.com', provides a Chase bank account number in Gainesville, GA, under his mechanic's name, James Gerwer, and a home address of 462 Jefferson Ave, longhorn PA 19047. Always ends email with 'God bless'.....ya right! Please beware of this loser.

1935-36 Super 8 Hood Side Louver Panels, 2 for right side.

These are two used right side Hood Louver Panels for 1935-36 Packard Super Eight, models 1203-4-5 and 1403-4-5.
They are both part number 225011, and have been lightly bead blasted for clean up.
One of them has 2 adjacent bars which have broken away from the vertical but no missing chunks, easily repaired by any competent plater and I speak from experience on this. These are shown in the pics, and there are no other cracks anywhere.
They have some minimal light pitting and mostly what you see is chrome which peeled away during bead blasting, they are very good candidates for re-chroming.

Price is $300. USD for both, plus postage, and I can ship world wide.

Re: WANTED: 1933-34 standard 8 engine and other parts.

Hi there, I have 2, 320 ci. engines which have been disassembled, but I believe all parts are there. Not sure of exact years, but I believe them to be early 30's.
Acquired from an elderly gentleman in his 90's who was active with Packards. There were some 384 ci. parts which is what I was after, and I have no use for the other stuff. The majority of both engines are in Post Falls, Idaho, in inside storage with a friend. A few items belonging to them ended up with me here in southern Alberta but will be returned to go with the engines.
If these would be of any interest to you and you're able to pick them up in Idaho I would entertain any reasonable offer, and I'm sure you could build at least one good engine out of this. You can reach me, Rick, at 403-534-2222 or email carsgoneby@telus.net and I can email you additional pics.

1935 1936 Senior 2-Door Models - New Hinge Pins for Sale
#9
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

carsgoneby
These are newly machined door hinge pins exactly replicated from originals for my 1936 Super Eight, model 1404, body style 959 convertible coupe. I had 2 sets made, so this is the only one currently available.
According to my 1933-36 Packard Parts Book the part numbers are:
Pin # 227603
Screw # 227601

These numbers are listed for the following 1935-36 senior body styles, all of which appear to be 2 door models, thereby requiring 4 pins and screws per car.
1935 = 801, 807, 810, 811, 819, 841,847, 850, 851, 859, 863, 883.
1936 = 901, 907, 910, 911, 919, 941,947, 950, 951, 959, 963, 983.

The pins are inserted into the hinge plates from the bottom, with the screw being on top. The screw is slotted to allow removal, and the center of the pin is bored with 2 side holes drilled to allow lubrication of the load-bearing hinge plate mating faces. Between each of those faces is a brass shim which would normally be reusable.

Precision made from quality 4140 steel to original nominal size. I only have this one set available, if there is a demand beyond this set I can have more made and will offer them in sets of 4 or individual pieces.
Price is $500. USD for this set of 4 pins and 4 screws and includes postage within North America.

As requested, here are some additional pics with a straight edge laid across the mounting face, I used a welders' magnet to hold the straight edge perpendicular to the flat face. With contact at both ends the gap at center point is 5/32". For the alignment of holes I positioned the flat edge at the center of both end holes.

Upon close inspection I can discern no evidence of it ever having been cracked or any weld repairs having been done.
Shipping quotes thru Canada Post can be provided upon request, but as Canada Post is currently on strike, UPS or FedEx may be another option to consider.
