Thanks for the info, Riki. I'm miles away from being ready to do the engine on my car, but I've made a note of it for when the time comes. Looks like the Carillos might be the best way to go...

Hello Riki, I saw this thread today for the first time, I'm not on the forum very often. Your picture of the new connecting rods really caught my eye. Would you mind giving me some more information about these connecting rods?
I own a 1937 Packard Twelve Club sedan which is a restoration project that I plan to start working on this summer. It's been off the road since 1953. I have the original rods for it, but eventually I'll have to face the problem of the non-available rod bearings. Are the rods in your picture something that will be for sale from one of the vendors? Am I correct in thinking you're using an easily available bearing shell? Any information you're willing to share would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
There's a Packard Twelve engine block for sale at a very low price in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I tried to buy it as a spare for my Twelve restoration project but I can't find a reasonably-priced way to ship it to my place. So I thought I'd mention it here in the hopes that someone else can save it. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-engines-and-engine-parts/winnipeg/v12-engine-block/1359751584?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Width of a 1937 Packard Twelve

Hi Everybody
I have a 1937 Packard Twelve Club Sedan restoration project which has been in storage for quite a few years. Now the time has finally come to move it from my friend's barn and start working on it. Can anyone tell me the width of this car at its widest? Length is not a problem but my buddy whose trailer we'll be using is worried the car won't fit in the 80 inch wide trailer. I can't find the width in any of my books and I won't have access to measure it until two other cars are moved out. If someone can tell me how wide it is in advance, all the better. Hopefully someone out there will either know the width or have it in a manual or book. Thanks!

Hello,
Thanks for your opinion and the picture. I'm sure you're right, it's definitely nothing like the right one. So I won't go for it. If anyone does want it, send me a private message and I'll give you the seller's info. Best wishes, Ian

Hi, can anyone tell me the approximate year of this old Packard radio? I was wondering if it would be about the right age for my 1937 Packard Twelve. Sorry the pictures aren't the best, they're taken from the ad I found.

Hi Mike
It's nice to see your last post. I don't necessarily want to put names, etc, on a public forum, but I'm about to send you a private message with what I know of the background of my Packard. Like you said, it may help. Best wishes, Ian

Hello,
I'd love to help you, but I don't know where the wood came from. I got it with the car. I can't remember if I asked the seller about it, but I'd say probably not. When I posted the picture, I was hoping some of the others on the Forum might recognize it. I know there are guys on here who know a million times more about Packards than I do. Sorry...
