Anyone know where I can get a new fuel pump for a 288 engine (built in '48)?

I've tried rebuilts twice, but they keep failing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sideview Mirrors

Have a '38 1601 Series 4-dr Touring Sedan.

In need of sideview mirrors that attach to front door frames. I have some after market mirrors, but they are too small for this car and they cannot be adjusted properly to give me safe views.

Any suggestions as to where I can get some larger ones and that also have wide range of adjustment?

Thanks.

I need 8; 4 for the window cranks and 4 for the door handles. The ones that came with the car are badly worn (ground down to the brass) and pretty bent up too.

I would want the best that you have, ie., not bent up.

I'm am going tomorrow afternoon to visit a vintage car junk yard in my area (50 miles away). They claim they have 3-4 boxes filled with escutcheons. If I can't find what I'm looking for there I will then get back to you to see what you have.

I checked with Merritt this very day, but they said they didn't have any. Thanks for the input though.

I'm looking for some new or decent escutcheons for the window and door handles for my 1938 Packard, 4-dr Touring Sedan.

Any idea where some might be available?

My '38 Packard at some time in the past had the 282 engine swapped out for a 288. Does the 288 have the same firing order as the 282?

Have a '38 Packard,1601 series, 4-dr. touring sedan.

What attaches to the throw out bearing collar that will keep it from spinning around?

I can't see how the throw out bearing and collar are attached to the shifting fork.

I didn't take this apart myself and I am in the dark as to how it goes back together.

I have a '38 4-dr Touring Sedan and your picture looks identical to the steering wheel on my car.
