Thanks JW. I would really appreciate it. If possible, could you also measure the distance from the front of the radiator cowling to the bumper and from the trunk to the bumper? I was told I had the mounting brackets mixed up also.

Thanks again,

Bob

1937-115C bumpers

I was told by a Packard expert, that he thought the bumpers on my 1937-115C 4door sedan were reversed - front bumper on back, back on front. I looked up the bumpers in the parts catalog but they don't say which one is longer. So, does anyone know if the front or rear bumper is longer. It appears one is about 2" longer then the other. The mounting holes are the exact same distance apart so that doesn't help.

Also, is there more space between the front bumper and the car body or the rear bumper and the car body? I am now not sure if the mounting brackets are also reversed?

Thanks for your assistance,
Bob

Thank you for your help. I do have a couple of other questions. Do you know the gauge of the spark plug wires? And, what gauge are the battery to starter cables?

Thanks,

Bob

I have a 1937-115C. Can someone tell me what gauge, size and color of spark plug wires to get? Are they cloth or rubber? Is there a good supplier to order them from? Thank you, Bob

Fuel Pump

The fuel pump on my 1937 - 115C needs to be replaced. Would it be wise to replace it with an electric fuel pump? Where can both the manual and the electric fuel pumps be purchased? The existing pump has been welded together so it would probably not be acceptable as a core replacement.

Thanks,
Bob

Can you tell me where I could purchase one? Did the old intake manifold still bolt on to this one without modification?

Thanks

1937 115C Heat Riser
#8

BobG
I recently purchased a 1937 115C Touring Sedan. The exhaust manifold had alot of surface rust so I decided to remove it for refinishing. Fortunately, removing the manifold was uneventful

However, the heat riser was frozen in place and I had to finesse it out. I spoke to Kanter and was able to purchase a rebuild kit which included bushings the pin and screw and a new spring. My "flapper" seems to be reuseable. The gentleman at Kanter's told me I also needed to put a weight on the apparatus which they do not have. So, I have a few questions:

1. Where does the weight go?
2. Where does the weight attach?
3. What does it look like - can anyone upload a photo?
4. Does anyone know where I could get a weight?

Thanks for your help. I am so excited to have finally been able to enter the world of Packard.

Bob
