Thanks to both of you ,the clutch discs were replaced, the rebuild was extensive,I do remember gutting it to nothing,I was worried about it before the build due to it having a groan when going in to direct drive.Hanks for the advice,I'll check all of this out tomorrow

With only a few test miles on a fresh rebuild ,the first few times out were great. Now it does have. Slow leak when it sits ,I just got it out for a quick drive and noticed it was low on fluid.I topped off the fluid which was about 3 quarts low.It is slipping from a dead stop, fwd and in reverse. Also it doesn't start in low gear when it is in hug gear and doesn't down shift. Is there an adjustment or something that I need to check?

Electronic ignition conversion HELP

So I converted my 54 clipper 327 over to electronic ignition. All was great at first. After driving it a few times ,I started losing spark out of the cap.I decided to buy another kit and try again.Started great, idled great.Went for a drive, engine was knocking, pinging, and surging. Also a new issue has occurred but may not be related, feels like it doesn't down shift when stopping and the car dies.I think that the distributor must be moving or advancing or retarding .Should the distributor be able to move,it doesn't seem to tighten down and lock.Any help is greatly appreciated

It's been a long time since I have posted.I wasn't able to post a lot of pics during the project due to not being able to post pics from my IPad,I see that can be done now.Anyway ,I wanted to say thanks to everyone on here that helped with a few technical snags along the way, especially the wiring diagrams from Kev .
