hello again the glass bowl from my car is not an original item. knowing the filter from a GM car will fit think this is the best and easiest route for me to go, should be able to source one in the UK. thanks for the help Jamie

hi just started my 55 clipper constellation and fuel started leaking from the top of the fuel filter housing, not the bowl itself but the gasket at the top. not sure this is a standard item as it says MILAGE MINDER on the cap when i took the cap off there were 2 gaskets so not sure if it should be 1 or 2. i would like to renew the unit as there is no filter in the bowl, would like to know if one from a GM car (or any other) would fit i live in scotland and can get one of those in the uk. thanks Jamie

brake system problem

just reading post by WauhopM i was out in my 55 clipper constellation at the weekend and a similar problem occured my brakes were working fine then all of a sudden the brake pedal was going further to the floor, my brakes were still working but after pressing the pedal 4 or 5 times it was flat down, if i lifted the pedal back up i had brakes again so had to keep repeating this prosess ( and using the hand brake) to get home. living in scotland means i dont have anywhere local to service it. i see i can get a rebuild kit but not sure what to do about this as most people on the forum recomend sending them to a specialist. i have not taken the master cylinder off as yet i just checked to see if it was still full of fluid ( whitch it is ) packardV8 suggested cleaning the compensator valve ! is this something you can do with the unit in place ? or will the whole thing have to come out. thanks Jamie

took my 1955 clipper constellation out for first time this year and noticed transmission fluid leaking from the small hole at the bottom of the bellhousing. it has a ultramatic fitted. i topped up the fluid and ran the car. the transmission is working with no problems. just to see if anyone has had the same issues and how to go about fixing the leak thanks jamie

HELP ! the front passenger electric window is not working, im trying to get the motor out. i have stripped the door cards off, took off the motor bolts the manual says all i have to do now is and i quote "disconnect the regulator arm at the lower channel bracket by removing a spring retainer, flat washerand a felt washer" . Is this the two r clips inside at the bottom of the window as they seem impossible to get too ( and prob get back on )and do i have to unbolt anything else along with these. Any info would be appreciated as i dont want to go unbolting things that i do not have to. Thanks missedgear

Hello Howard it is the bottom part that has broken off, both metal connectors are missing. There is a seller on ebay has these parts ( new and used) but says he cannot get to a post office to mail them to me (how a person who sells on ebay cant get to a post office is beyond me !!) so was hopeful someone may know where to purchase these. Be good if you have any tips on a repair that i could do myself. thankx Jamie
