Re: Spare Tire Lock and Key

Thank you Mr. Dyneto for the reply and the lead. I have tried my local lock smith without to much success. Says he needs to see the lock and car is not running yet. Service charge to come out etc and I am not that serious at getting the tires unlocked yet. I will most like try the pick set you suggested and pick up a new trade in picking locks.

Thanks again for you help.

Spare Tire Lock and Key

I need more help. Can someone guide me in the direction of a locksmith that may have a pattern for my 29 pack 633 spare tire lock. It has Yale 331 on the face and also a stamped S. Does anyone have the same lock and if so I would like to discuss borrowing it to see if I can unlock my spares and or I can make my own key on my milling machine.

Thanks for any and all comments, help and advice.

Shawn, I also need a left front fender for my senior car. It is a 1506 1023. If you are not able to use the 37 fenders you located, please message me the location so I may follow up and see it they will fit my car. I found a set of 37 fenders but they are for a junior car and do not have the wheel wells that I prefer. would be will to swap if we can make it work for both.

12 cyl alum heads other parts

I have located 3 used aluminum heads and other misc parts for 12 cyl engines. Will the major parts such as block, cranks, cams, valve silencers, valves, pistons, connecting rods, intake and exhaust interchange on all 12's.
The heads are erroded around the water passages and need repair work. Can they be repaired by a quality craftsman/welder. What should I look for to determine if they are reworkable.
Is there a stock height from gasket surface to cylinder dome or some ref point to check and see if they have been machined.
Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

Mr O D
Thanks for your reply and info, I will look up the information you shared. I am going to try and attach a folder of pics of my 29 with the turn signal indicators. My car is typical left hand drive as standard in the USA so I am still hoping you can help me.

Can some one tell me how to go about identifying a body maker. I read and follow this site trying to learn more about Packards and just do not know what to look for and how to tell. I have a 29 633 7pass that i am working on and a 37 1506 5 pass needing a left front fender to begin a full restoration.
My 29 has some turn signal indicators under the sun visor that appear to be vaccuum operated and slide out. Can some one tell me about these.

Re: 1929 ignition keys

Thanks for all the replys and excellent advice. It appears that my system is incorrect for the car. I have a modern day coil (can't see label to tell if 6 or 12 volts) and a seperate ignition switch. (feels like a 4 or 6 pin switch). Mr. petersen notes that it should be a switch built in the end of a coil. Looks like I have a decision to make. Start hunting and original or replace the current style switch just to get her going. Thanks again for all the data and help.
