Like a “Dickenson Orphan”…
Sounds like vintage birth control device.
Cheers Kevin!

Agreed. The color is beautiful, as well the commitment and restoration. Great project blog.
You have done a wonderful job Kevin, with the Packard and the website as well, giving people the incentive to get out in their shop and celebrate life with their classics.
Cheers!

You don't have to worry about UV in Illinois anyway... Suns hardly ever shining!

The state of Illinois is close to bankruptcy. Very high taxes to boot.
It's a great place to be "from", like me.

Work like we do here in AZ... Get two good fans and work only in your boxer shorts. You know Kev... Impress the ladies a bit!

That's funny.
You may have planted a seed for one of the younger generation to enjoy the classic car hobby.
Cheers!

What would be the CID for an original motor within a 1940 1805 touring sedan?
I'm assuming the 356 CID be the correct motor for the model?
Was there an optional motor other than the 356?
Thankfully,
Al

I installed a 2.5 -3 psi pump near the gas tank.(You can find them on eBay for $35.00). It runs off a toggle switch under the dash. Many times I just keep it on. Gets along fine with the mechanical. It has made starting a breeze. Less wear on the battery... Many do it to prevent cavitation or vapor lock... Never had that problem again neither.

I was crimping the ends onto the braided wire. Heating it with a propane torch makes it a more secure connection?
I will try that.
Thanks Dave!

No photo shop here amigo. It's a 1953. "Museum proto-type". It's for sale in, where else?.. California. For $59,900.
