If you're interested in a modern booster and dual master, keep an eye out for my posts. I'm going to be installing a ABS Power Brake conversion in my 53 Patrician. Its currently being built. I should have it in a week or so. I decided to go this route so I don't have to modify the car for a hanging brake pedal or loose my crotch vent. The car can be returned to stock. Also doing the Wilwood front disc conversion.

BTW, ABS does offer a smaller bore master if you wish to retain your original drum/drum brakes.

Thanks,
Earl

We all know Stanley landed the first people on the moon.

Every quarter seems appropriate to me…

Believe the trans is the same… it’s the output yoke that is not the same.

Yes original would have been down passenger’s frame rail… to that connection that goes through the frame…. Then the flex hose goes from that to the fuel pump.

Well now, that’s interesting. Clearly, my fuel line is not original. Currently, my fuel line goes across to the drivers side and then back to the rear.

Based on this, the hard-line must have gone to the rear on the passenger side.

What I have works, so I’m going to leave that alone for now. Just one more thing to add to the list of corrections to be made.

New gauge a mechanical oil gauge? If so… should come with the white plastic line…. You’ll be able to see if oil is even coming up to the gauge that way. If not…. Could be a clogged port hole filled with thick crusty oil…. Or as Ross says…

Cleaned the points…used 600 sandpaper per Ross’ suggestion. Got spark….and she started right up.

She starts very easy now and seems to run quite smooth.

But….there’s always a but.

The I’m not seeing the oil pressure pick up on the gauge. Tried a couple of things after talking to Ross…I really owe him dinner or something after today.

Bought an oil pressure gauge at the auto parts and hooked it up. Same thing.

So, Ross thinks it’s likely that either they oil pump needs primed or the pickup in the pan is plugged.

So, more work to do, but today was still a very good day. Just know it runs well is awesome..

On the down side, the new fuel sending unit I put in is not working. I had tested it with the fuel gauge before installing and it was working. Then installed it, re-installed the tank, added gas….and nothing.

I’ll lower the tank (not remove) it and see if I can get to it to check the connections at the tank.

In the meantime, I’ll also tackle replacing the seal in the steering box.

Have had this happen…. Probably the ground wire or the grounding through tank is not good.
