She's a beauty, I didn't read all the posts (too lazy) but anyway--how does it run? Any pics of the engine and interior?? I really like these cars--it's a full CCCA classic you know.

Definite;y all good advice but, I'm not sure I could make some of those repairs that you guys have mentioned. I've never relplaced a water pump, generator, condensor, points or a belt on one of these cars. I guess if I was stuck on side of the road I might learn fast or at least tear somethingn up.

I might be driving a 56 Clipper Custom 2 dr. hardtop on a 700 mile trip in late July. I've never done this with one of these cars. It has a complete engine rebuild and new Chrysler tranny. The engine I think has only around 3000 miles on it and the tranny less. Everything works like it should. I've never even driven a 55-56 Packard but the owner says it will run all day long at 70 mph and cruise effortlessly. I guess just take the usual, good floor jack for quicker tire change, toolbox. What if any extra parts would you take?

Well, I just had to ask the seller about that pic and he said it was from the 47 Custom he sold earlier this year. He said he would remove it from the ad.

Owen,
I don't know anything about the body tag pic and I didn't notice when viewing the car.

How do you know that is a pic of a Briggs tag? Should it say Briggs somewhere on it?

I got to view the car in person and it's very nice. The seller is actually a small private dealer and he said he mainly buys and sells Packards--how cool! If anyone buys it let us know how it turns out.
