any ideas what a letter "A" code could represent after the serial number ?

i have identified the other codes and they agree with the options the car has
cannot guess what the letter A stands for
after the s/n 1807 on my 56 ship card

the car has a gold plated hood ornament and gold front and rear vees
not sure they are original.

did not see a ship card in your references so here is one i bought off of ebay
for my car.

regards
ronv

A T85 3 speed in a 5687 info.

My car has a T85 3 speed from a 56 clipper in it ---
when I acquired it, it had already had the pushbutton removed and
was converted.

It has an 11 inch pressure plate and clutch (long mfg)

rebuilt ( the cover had cracks in it's plate warped and some broken springs)
it looked like it really took a beating.

a shop replaced that entire assembly with a stronger one
their part numbers are CA1006 11 inch cover; CD0286 11 inch disk and
resurfaced the flywheel.

I found the drive shaft has 56 mercomatic painted on the side of it, i guess it is merc.!!!

Have not gotten the car on the road yet still rebuilding.

maby those numbers will help you

Howard,

I have two front antennas apart now and restoring one for the 56.

one has six flats and measures .250 across the flats
and screws on

the other is slightly larger and measures .275 across the flats and screws on.

the threads are not the same between them.
I do not know which is original maby both of them are.
or one is an older model.
This is something that most people do not measure
I would not have if they were the same size.

I am going to choose the ,250 as it is in better shape.
