Re: V12 Clutch Help

I purchased a complete 1937 1506 1023 that started and ran smooth. I was told about the clutch being frozen to the flyWheel. No amount of bumping would loosen it. Maybe yours is frozen up also? I finally got it pealed off and rebuilt. No pins To keep it in place. You aligned everything with the normal type alignment tool. The car had set for decades without being moved.

My wire from the receiver box is exactly the same as your post. The dash control head has two wires coming from the one-off volume switch. My car is a 1937 senior model closed sedan 1023.

I have 2 packards registered in CA and both registered different. My 38 junior is with the vin decal # even though the decal was not present when purchased. Then I perchased a 37 senior that was dormant and not in records. CA sent me to a CHP registration office and insisted on using the engine # even though they agreed it did not make sense. The vin plate was in place and looked as if not tampered with. I was told that was their guidelines. I tried to reason with them showing my registered 38 packard slip but to no avail?

I have a 1937 series 1506 and have not been able to find a lower piece of the grill (the piece w/ ribs). Can anyone help with this?

Hi Ian, I do not seem to get on the forum as often as I should. I have been working on the 37 but it has not been redoing or repairing the wood. The front and rear brakes have got me chasing parts all over. I thought I would tear into the rear end while waiting for parts.
I am sorry I was not clear on my question about the wood kit you got with your car. If you can remember were or the area you purchased your 1937 Packard from....maybe I can look at company's that might make replacement parts in that general area? Probably a long shot but it might lead to something. I am like you and hope this will trigger someone else who has more experience than me to chime in. The picture you sent was great and all suggestions are helpful.

Thank you for responding and yes it does look like quality stuff. Since it was a while ago can I ask what area you bought it from? Maybe I can start there.
