That's right guys. It is my Packard. Fact is, I do not need to sell it. I priced the car to reflect that. I have other projects I would like to direct my attention towards and if it sells, great. If not, It will be finished. I hate selling a car before done, but at some point you realize someone may enjoy the style but not have the capabilities to complete the difficult work. This for them is their opportunity. I already have a great deal of questions from people on the listing and a couple are interested in me finishing some more detail work for them. Believe me I will not be giving ths away.

I sort of feel a bit like a child here fellas. It really had nothing to do with any negative comments, including those from packprince. To be crticized is to be noticed. I was just beginning to feel as if I really was'nt able to contribute much in the way of this being informative to this tremendous site. Kind of like going on the HAMB and spouting the dreaded "rat rod" term. If it were not for you find gentlemen, I never would have even gotten this fine automobile running. It's a bit like using your vast knowledge and returning something of little use to you. I truly appreciate mixed emotions and honesty from everyone, it is really the best way to define yourself.

At any rate, it will be a few months before I am able to begin working on "Pattie Packard" again. I probably will not have any updates until after the first of the year. If there is any information I can share, you can gaurentee that I will.

Maybe by the next post I'll even throw in a picture of my heavily chopped and dropped 46' Ford P/U (with 39' standard coupe front sheetmetal) Street - Strip truck

I agree BH. The title is unintentional and misleading. I have been on and around enough forums to know that you are always going to upset some people. No harm, no foul. I never build for praise, been doing it way to long to care about that.

I have however come to the conclusion that this type of modification is a bit too much for even this area of the forum, even though most have seemed to enjoy it.

If anyone is interested in seeing any future progress, please follow this link:

If posting a link is unacceptable, please feel free to delete this BigKev.

It has been a pleasure -

By the way guys - I'm 41. Also, I never would have posted this build had the modification section not been created. I can understand if this is a little "out there" for this site. I also post on forums that cater to this type of build and it is well recieved. I will only continue to post if it does not continue to cause any drama.

I apprecite that you like what I have done thus far PACKPRINCE, but in your previous post you said I was "bored shitless and on crack" and "butchered" an otherwise valuable car. You are entitled to your opinion but please stand by it.

I would also like to say that I purely enjoy customs and I did'nt choose the car, it chose me. This car was destined to be pro-streeted or crushed by the PO because he could not sell it. I am keeping this a period 50's Kustom piece with original drivetrain, suspension, interior and so on. It is nothing more then what the likes of Winfield or Barris or the other great icons would have done at the time. My build is done with my vision, heart and soul. What others of today seem to do (no names mentioned here) is create a 2008 vehicle wearing an old overcoat. No offense, but just about anyone can yank a beautiful period drivetrain for the sake of saying their car is a "hotrod". What people like PACKPRINCE do is merely no more than doing it for the sake of making a living. No heart, no soul - only bragging rights. My car is built to enjoy and that I do. I smile as much driving it as those whom smile at it. I will park next to a 100 point resto anyday and still feel nothing but pride. It's much better than the shame of lifting the hood on my trailer queen and saying "see my nice shiny small block chevy and late model suspension"

Just my 2 cents!

HEY GUYS!! I'm back!
Sorry it's been awhile, work has been crazy. Work has stalled on the Packard for time being. I roughed out some body work and primered it then put in a temporary plexi windshield so I could enjoy driving her for now. Over the winter I'll finish th body and lay some paint, interior and so on. Oh and PACKPRINCE, I'm not going to stoop to your level of immature insults but I'll go head to head with you any day and walk away smilin while your cryin!

Enjoy the photos!
