Torque specifications were still some years in the future at the time of your car. A good recommendation could be made based on the thread size, so how about measuring that first. I suspect it may be 7/16-20 in which case I'd go to about 60 ft-lbs. Torque in a spiral pattern, starting in the center and going side to side, front to back, in 3 increments (20, 40, 60) and retorque again after about 1/2 hour of running, again after a few hundred miles, and again annually.

That is exactly the information I was looking for. I initially torqued the head nuts up to 50 and again after about half an hours running now I can take it up to 60 after some more running time. Bj.
