I removed the drain plug to change oil and address a slow leak.

The head of the plug that was in the pan was 1 1/4".

It appears to be a normal plug with a threaded od adaptor which is 1 9/32 x 12 tpi.

There is a copper washer between the head, and the adapter.

Is this normal? I doubt it

That is not the original drain plug. The original (pictured below) was for years available as a reproduction from Byron York's restoration service in CT, not sure if he still offers it. And the threads on your pan may have been altered? The original plug is similar if not identical to the plug on the timing chain cover near the generator - check your parts book to see if they both share the same p/n.

The photos below were taken years ago, I could probably remove the plug from my spare engine and photograph at an angle if you need a better photo.
