Looking forward to following your progress! I’ve had a number of 1940 Packards and still have quite a few small parts at my Oregon shop should you discover anything missing.

Larry, Now that you have this '40 120 Club Coupe I invite you to include it in PackardInfo's Packard Vehicle Registry along with your already included '40 One-Sixty Super Eight Touring Sedan

The car has been added to the registry. Search for it under Model 1395.

You all know how it goes trying to buy parts for your car right? You think you found the correct part, you talk to the seller and then you get the part and it isn't what you thought it should be.
I bought a nice rechromed rear Bumper intended for a 1940 Packard 120 Club Coup. But .... the bumper I bought is 4.75" wide x 66.5" long with nine holes in it (from each end to center the holes are 5.75" square, 10.75" round , 15.5" round, 18" square with a square middle hole of 34"). The original bumper on the car, that has a trunk rack, is 4.25" wide and 68" long with holes from each end at 7", 11" and 16"! The seller assures me the bumper came off an all original 1940 Packard 120. I don't see this shorter bumper wider bumper listed in Packard accessories for 1940. It is definitely not a 1941 bumper. Anyone have any ideas what this new bumper might go to?

That's not a 1940 Packard rear bumper and neither is the one on the car. The holes are obviously wrong but also the 1940 rear bumpers had the Packard script at the center. I may have one needing chrome but can't be sure until I get to my Oregon shop but I do have lots of other 1940 parts available.

It is my understanding that Packard did not have the Packard script on the rear bumpers of cars with trunk racks since tge trunk rack already had the Packard script (this car does have a bumper rack). This information comes from John Ulrich.
