I have a friend here in town with a 50 Packard 8. Specifically after shifting from first gear into second the motor stalls and he has to re-start the engine. When he first got the car, it turned out that he was giving it full throttle when accelerating and engaging the OD shutout circuit. He quickly learned not to give her full throttle under acceleration.

However, now this happens when shifting from first to second. I think the kick down switch and/or wiring is wonky, after looking at the Borg Warner manual under the manuals section (see para 21). But I'm still looking for suggestions on how to fix this. thanks
