Hello all,
I'm attempting to find a cross reference paint code for Egyptian Sand Metallic for our '48 22nd series Touring Sedan. I've seen paint jobs that were supposed to be Egyptian Sand, but were way too tan. I don't have a part of the car with the original color that isn't faded out to get it matched to. I know that the color is more of a putty gray than tan and would appreciate any suggestions or assistance!

You can try to look into this site:

autocolorlibrary.com/pages/1950-Packard.html

I've had good luck with them in the past.

I have seen a good original Egyptian Sand car - you are right in that the color is more putty gray,, not yellow beige. The color is not metallic.

Thanks. The Packard color chart for that year states the color as "Egyptian Sand Metallic".
Thew color chart for our '56 Clipper also states "Tahitian Jade Metallic".
Neither of these have any hint of metallic in them! Makes me wonder why!
