Found 1953 Packard

Hey guys I went over to my local u-pull it yesterday looking for parts for my chevy, and ended up finding a Packard!

I don't have much info on it but here's what I have.

It's a 2652-5721

It looks like it was possibly pink

It had a bunch of parts stuffed into it, however no engine and it looked like no trans either.

The body looked pretty darn solid, with most or all of it's trim.

They want $500 for it and said it's been there a while. I'm afraid if no one picks it up it will be crushed, so if anyone is interested in it, I'm going to be trying to head back over there today and will post their contact info with some pics of the car if I can get them.

Someone should save it!

If you go back, how about getting me the thief-proof number?

Also, is the 2652-5721 the # on the VN plate on the door jamb, or the Briggs # from the cowl near the heater box?

Thanks for your help with this.

Sorry should have been more specific it's the Briggs# off of the cowl. I wasnt sure if it was for sale when I looked at it yesterday. So I didn't want to just start opening it up. But I will get the one from the door along with the theif proof number when I go back today.

And sorry about the double post I put this up from my phone and I don't know why it did that. Also I tried deleting the second one but I'm not sure that it worked.

Edit: Actually I'm not sure if it matters but that number was stamped on a plate on the drivers side. Not above the heater box.

Thanks for picts. See a few parts people have been looking for lately along with some decent sheetmetal & trim items. Kinda hard to tell exactly what's there and what's not.

The hole in 50-54 trans tunnel for accessing the vent to fill trans from inside is clearly shown for anyone interested.

I'd like to know what the tube in dash by Briggs # is for--don't remember anything there.

EDIT: Hose has to be hydraulic line for windows.

Nice Find Brandon. I pass by there everyday to work. I didn't know U-Pull it changed to LKQ. Looks like maybe this car was that Bikini Bottom blue the BigKev's is. Now if it would stop raining I might stop in and take a look at it!

Update: Well nobody bought the car, so it is now in the U-pull-it area. The sheetmetal on the car is very good. The bumpers are still inside the car and the side trim is very straight. The engine is gone, but he heater box is still under the hood. Sad for the car but good for anyone in Oregon/Washington who needs parts.
