Does anyone know if this is compatable with the gas door guard on a 48 Custom?

This is the guard on my '49 22nd series Custom.



The distance between the screw holes is 5 1/4 inches. I kinda doubt that the curvature that matches the fender would be the same.

Looking thru Bob Neal's book on the 22 and 23 series cars, the PA-415623 Guard, rear fender gasoline door didn't seem to be that popular an item for being one of Packards less expensive options.. Of those cars that had photos in the book showing the drivers side I only saw it on one car - maybe - since the angle in that photo was poor to see much detail towards the rear.

Neal lists a dealer price of $1.50 which means the dealer probably sold if for a minimum of $1.75 or $2. Guess that price is relative though because a dollar then was actually worth something. $2 calculates out to around $26.59 today.
