DIY Window Beltline Felt Install

Hey guys - working through redoing my window frames in my 2302. The original windown beltline was stapled into the frame. Tried using a regular staple gun, and as you might have guessed, the staple just crinkled. Hoping to avoid using adhesives, can these be stapled at home with a pneumatic staple gun, or some other tool/fastener for a more permanent fit than an adhesive? Thanks!

Packard had a very powerful stapler for stapling sheet metal together. I haven't seen anyone have easy access to such a thing as a hobbyist.

I would suggest using tiny self-tappers if that would not present an appearance or mechanical issue. If you have access to the rear of the mating part, you could use stainless steel wire tied in the back—it would look like a staple from the front. But to do that you would have to drill pilot holes in the new material.
