Hi
This "The Old Motor" feature completes the story of Rogers Garage, Hanover, NH seen in the fine 1953 photo circulating on-line. It ends the way so many did, even before the Detroit shutdown. theoldmotor.com/?p=165095 One local dealer, South Main Motors, Perry, NY had Packard for 1953, dropped the franchise for Pontiac for 1954, presumably on the promise of the all-new 1955 V8 line. It turned out to be a smart business move as he rode Pontiac's ascendency to third place in overall sales in the 1960's. By the time of the owner retired from his successful dealership, closing in 1980, Packard was recalled only as a peripheral detour prelude to success. Steve

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive. |
