Polaris Blue, My Beautiful '54 Patrician

Hello All!

I'm looking for some help identifying the exact blue for my 1954 Patrician. I've noticed that the Dupont color detail card is different from other examples I pull up on the internet. Polaris Blue.
My wheels are in need of blasting and powder coating but the body paint job is probably 3 years down the road. That said, I'm looking to get the right color on the wheels now.
Any clues for a more certain pick?

Thank in advance!
Shannon

I have the factory color chips somewhere but not sure what information they'll provide provide as the codes on them are obsolete. Best to find an undisturbed area of your car to have it matched but there are also online services that specialize in vintage car colors that might offer an even better match.

Incidentally, my 1954 Patrician parts car is also Polaris Blue and, as I'm using that body for the driving car, it will be Polaris blue too if and when it's done!

As I have heard, what may be best is (assuming the car drives) is to find a good, unfaded area (such as the side of the B-pillar next to the door) and lightly clean and polish it. Then just drive the car to a proper automotive paint shop and match a new color by eye.

TCP Global had Polaris Blue on their website a while back and I know that at least one car was painted with it. Should be somewhere on this site or the Packard Club forums. Can't remember where I saw it. It was a 53 or 54 Caribbean. Color looked right to me.

I couldn't find the color on the website right now, but I'm sure a call to them would clear it up. At some point I'd like to have my car painted back to the original Polaris Blue, so I'm interested in what you find.

someone posted this website sometime ago:

paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cg ... laris%20Blue&tditzler=10953&rows=50

Cannot vouch for its accuracy, but an extensive website.

Thank you for the response!
I actually identified the color as Bikini Blue off of the unpainted spare wheel. Very well preserved! The Ditzler Paint Division code card is a good match.

Thank you again!
