Clutch release rod

Driving the 51 200 today, all of a sudden the clutch pedal went flat to the floor, and the transmission stayed in gear. Coasting the the side of the road, I called my wife to tow the car back to the house. Found that the adjustable rod from the clutch fork to the pedal had snapped in half in the threaded part of the rod. I went to the hardware store and got a 5/16" x 24 barrel nut/coupling, cleaned up the threads and put lock tite on it and put it back together. The clutch now works just fine again. Does anyone have a spare rod they could part with? I suspect the repair will last a long time, but it would be nice to have an original part. My other option is to cut the rod off from the flat end and weld on a grade 5 bolt.

thanks
