Tim, I'm going to replace both intake and exhaust guide on my 356 ci engine. Would you recommend the guide/stop be made of metal or hardwood? My thought was to get each tappet on the low portion of cam and measure distance between top of tappet and bottom of existing guide to make "stop block" guide.
Is this a good approach? Thanks.

Thanks Tim, What is the procedure for removing and replacing. I take it they can be pounded out or in with a hammer or maybe pressed somehow. I am glad you mentioned the stop guide. What is a good way to do this. thanks
