I wonder if the main oil supply to the inside of the cam shaft amd from there into the camshaft bearings is ment to enter at the rear bearing in the clutch housing. In that case I suppose the camshaft shall be closed in the front end to let the oil be distributed under some pressure to the camshaft bearings. My camshaft is fully open in the front end without any plug/ cover. Any ideas?

Here's how Packard described the camshaft and rocker oiling for the 1937 320 engine. I would guess but can't guarantee that the 385 engine used the same methodology.

Tnak you for quick answr. The oil follow the same directions on the 1004 Super 8 as on the 1937 320 engine. But I still wonder if the cam shaft shall be closed in the front with a plug to build up higher pressure in the shaft for better oiling of the cam bearings. Enclosed toy can find a picture of the cam shaft for a 6-series Super 8 never been disamled.
