is there a term used when referencing a hood on a 38 packard six. I know ford, chevy and a few other models had this folding style hood.

In most of the literature of the era, Packard referred to it as either a hood or the British term, bonnet.

Officially it was "bonnet" thru 1954, though I'm sure some publications used "hood" much earlier
