1) Used in early-mid-late 1930's Junior and Senior Packards.
-1932-39: 2 were used in each left/right front (coupes) or rear (sedans) door jambs.
-Switch completes the courtesy dome/running board light circuit to ground
-Reference: Packard part 1932-39: 220761

2) The switch plate/bezel has been milled to the correct Packard shape:
a) These are single pole single throw (SPST) normally closed (NC) momentary switches
b) Door Open: Open/out on the switch/spring position is NC circuit (normally closed circuit, current flows from courtesy lamp circuit through the switch to ground and courtesy lamps illuminate)
c) Door Closed: Closed/in on the switch position is open circuit (open circuit, current is interrupted and courtesy lamps are off).
d) Depending on your vehicle door jamb bodywork/condition, the receiving hole can be lightly dressed up with a 23/32" or 47/64" diameter drill bit before installing the switch, which completely covers the receiving hole.
e) Continuity & isolation tested.
f) Ensure your wire terminals do NOT touch adjacent wood/metal; generally recommend a layer of electrical insulating tape or heat shrink tube after terminating wire leads
